Overview
This certificate provides a pathway for those students interested in attending professional programs in nursing, physician's assistant, or MD. Students in this certificate program will have completed the base requirements for professional schools (though individual schools may have additional requirements).
Skills
This program provides the appropriate coursework so you will be eligible for acceptance into professional programs in health sciences. You will be able to:
- identify major anatomic and physiological systems in the human body;
- explain how different events and/or diseases will affect physiological systems in the human body;
- articulate the impact of the microbiome on human health and how human behaviors alter our interactions with microbes; and
- use statistics as a means of understanding the importance of data relating to human health.
Academic and Other Support Services
In addition to access to our Academic Advisement Center and a faculty advisor for your major, if you self-identify your interest in the health-professions, you will be assigned to a Health Professions Advisor in our Office of Health Careers.
