The Galleries at 海角论坛 offer opportunities for students to show their work in the public gallery spaces during the academic year. Our two current opportunities鈥搕he Juried Student Show and Project Open Call鈥揳re open to 海角论坛 students who have taken a digital or studio art class in the last two semesters. Students are encouraged to submit strong examples of their work for consideration in the group and solo exhibitions that come from these open calls. Submissions are reviewed by 海角论坛 Art Department faculty members, the Gallery Director, or the Gallery Advisory Committee, depending on the opportunity.
Juried Student Show
The Juried Student Show is an annual exhibition held in the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery at the end of every spring semester. Students may submit work created in a digital or studio art course within the past two semesters to be considered. Submissions are ranked for inclusion by the Art Department鈥檚 full-time faculty and selected works will be displayed alongside faculty submitted student work. The art included in the final exhibition has the opportunity to win awards selected by a guest juror.
Project Open Call
Project Open Call is an open call program that accepts applications at the end of every semester for consideration in student shows in the following semester. Students may submit either personal work or course work, and can apply for inclusion in a curated group exhibition or with an original idea for a solo or group show. Submissions are reviewed by the Gallery Director and Gallery Advisory Committee for potential inclusion and exhibitions are held in the Project Space Gallery.
