Scotland's most precious possession is 

what many call the letter from King Robert the Bruce

of Scotland to Pope John XX11

 This letter is also known

as  the Declaration of Arboath

it alludes to the origin of the Scots fro the so-called

"Lost Tribes of Israel"

"On the sixth of April, 1320 A.D. King Robert (the Bruce) of Scotland 

 the sending of a letter to Pope John XXII which has become 

 many call 'Scotland's most precious possession.'  The document 

 known today as the 'Declaration of Arbroath' or 

The Scottish Declaration of Independence.'  It is kept in a shallow 

 case in the Register House of Edinburgh.  The document is a 

 to which are attached twenty-five red and green seals -

the seals of the subscribing Scottish nobles."
