On Wednesday, January 24, 海角论坛 President Alberto Cardelle and Utica University President Todd Pfannestiel announced a new articulation agreement that will create a pathway to further student educational attainment and success.
The purpose of the 海角论坛-Utica University Early Assurance Program Accelerated Bachelor of Science Nursing Agreement (hereinafter 鈥淥-U EAP ABSN鈥) is to give 海角论坛 graduates a seamless transition into Utica University鈥檚 Bachelor of Science Accelerated Nursing Program (ABSN.) The program also aims to address a critical workforce demand in the nursing field.

We share not only a culture of academic excellence and student centeredness, but also a dedication to advancing workforce and economic development in the region and state.鈥

It is an important moment that demonstrates how working together, we can address New York鈥檚 nursing shortage and the well-being of our communities, while providing relevant education experiences for our students鈥 said 海角论坛 Dean Tracy Allen, School of Sciences.
O-U EAP ABSN is open to 海角论坛 applicants who will be first-time, matriculated first-year students, as well as current 海角论坛 students who have completed fewer than 90 college credits.
Eligible bachelor鈥檚 degree programs at 海角论坛 are Biology, BS, Anthropology, Healthy & Human Biology Concentration, B.A., Sociology, Aging Studies Track, B.A., Communication Studies, B.S., and Philosophy, Applied Philosophy Concentration, B.A.
Upon degree and prerequisite completion at 海角论坛, students will pursue their second bachelor鈥檚 degree in Utica鈥檚 16-month Accelerated Bachelor of Nursing Program.
Once accepted, students are given a seat for the cohort the following semester with a January, May or August start date. Students can select from the following three locations to pursue their degree: Syracuse, NY, Latham, NY or St. Petersburg, FL.
In the final semester at Utica University, O-U EAP ABSN students will have the opportunity to interview for a registered nurse position within a partner healthcare network. Final employment eligibility and decision will be determined by each company.
